Event Time: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Location: Holy Trinity Church, High Street, Hurstpierpoint
Come and join us for Cafe in the Church, during which there will be an organ recital, by Paul Simpson, of well-known music by famous composers.
There will be a wide variety of stalls selling crafts, bric-a-brac, books, jewellery and produce, and, of course, a raffle.
Come and see how the church looks without the pews and enjoy the wide open spaces and the beautiful architecture.
The organist will be playing from 10:30am. Paul Simpson’s previous appearances at the Hurst Festival have been with the Hurstpierpoint Singers, which he directed for six years. He has been a conductor and choir trainer for over 40 years, and an organist for even longer, initially taught by Westminster Abbey’s organist, Christopher Herrick. He has held posts at various churches in Surrey and Sussex, most recently at Warnham, and with the return of music in services continues to help out where needed. He currently runs the community choir All the Right Notes which has managed to meet regularly throughout the pandemic – even occasionally in person! – and is a freelance editor for major publishers.
