Bar Manager Hurst Festival 2024    

Role: Manage Hurst Festival Bars from Friday 13th – 29th September 2024. What are we looking for: Local Personal Licence holder to manage Event bars in Hurstpierpoint, Sussex. An organised person with a full driving licence – own van would be useful, or a hire van will be provided. Ability to lift, carry and manage bars at multiple events and pack down at finish. (Some events finish 11.00pm)
Competitive renumeration depending on experience.
There will also be a need for a few pre-production days pre-festival and post production days after the last event. Email manager@hurstfestival.org for more details

Job Specification

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Deliver drinks to venues in Hurstpierpoint in advance of events and fill fridges.
  • Buy ice and fill freezer in festival storage facility where stock is based.
  • Check stocks and put together a pile of drinks/glasses etc. for the bars for that night, with a label on top, indicating which event/venue the pile is for. 
  • Return items to the garage after the event.
  • Prepare bar menus – 4 different types, offering different ranges of drinks for each of the above scenarios.
  • Print and laminate 8 copies of the large bar menus, plus 4 copies of the small bar menus
  • Monitor ticket sales with Box Office Manager to dictate how much drink will need to be taken to each venue.
  • Manage bars at event with Volunteer helpers and bar staff.
  • Manage SumUp machines and keep charged.
  • Keep track of opened stock and utilise to save waste.
  • Manager glasses and tea towels and equipment
  • Delivery to and from venues.
  • Purchase of soft drinks.
  • Clear bar tables and repack for next event at end of night.
