ANNOUNCEMENT: Hurst Festival 2022 and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The Festival opens on Saturday 17 September and closes on Sunday 2 October with more than 80 events organised during that fortnight. Since the death of Her Majesty the Queen, the Festival team have considered carefully how to manage the first few days’ events, particularly those happening near to the date of her funeral on Monday September 19th. All events on that day have been cancelled.

It is not possible to cancel ‘Super Sunday’ on 18th September. It is a day of free events for the whole community, without ticketing, and clearly not feasible to contact the very large numbers of people expected to attend or take part. In consultation with the Parish Council, we have now added   Community Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Queen, towards the end of the day, at Holy Trinity Church at 4.30 pm, led by the Rector, Rev Jane Willis, to which everyone is warmly invited to attend.

Hurst Festival Covid procedures

The Hurst Festival would like to ensure that all participants and audience members enjoy a safe and worry-free environment at festival events.

We would like to reassure everyone that we will be following all current Government guidelines, as the comfort and wellbeing of Festival-goers is of upmost importance to us.

With this in mind we hope that you can enjoy the Festival knowing that your safety and wellbeing is well catered for.

The following procedures will be in place at each venue:

  • Signs reminding audience members that they should not attend if they have any Covid like symptoms.
  • Hand-sanitiser and facemasks will be available to all audience, participants and volunteers.
  • Adequate ventilation will be ensured by keeping doors and windows open where possible.
  • We will use as many exit and entry points as possible.
