“Evocations for Flute and Cello Past to Present”
Klio and Rebecca have been working together since 2006 in various instrumental combinations. They perform regularly both as soloists and ensemble players in the UK and abroad, most recently performing together at Les Theophanies International Festival in France where their recital received critical acclaim. They both have have a special interest in commissioning and performing contemporary music and take great pleasure in working with new composers.
EVOCATIONS will explore music from both past and present. Works by Baroque masters such as Handel and Bach, combined with the warm sounds of the flute and cello, will transport and enchant the audience in the first half, whereas a shorter but exciting second half will allow a glimpse into
the rich and unique harmonies of the 20th & 21st centuries with works by Hawkins, Salter, Hepplewhite and Villa Lobos.
