‘Practically Perfect’ takes a light-hearted look at the many aspects of Julie Andrews’ complex career, personal life-events and ultimately her personality.
The one-act show explores the contrast between the public face of the legendary musical and movie star and the intensely private family woman. The story pays tribute to her phenomenal career up until 1997 when, tragically, a controversial surgical procedure on her vocal chords took away her four-octave voice. This is a new version of a show originally produced in 2014 and previews here before its planned debut at the Edinburgh Fringe next year.

Gin Palace Productions was born out of a mutual love of classic musical theatre, Julie Andrews and Gin!
Sam Nixon and Alasdair Carson-Sheard came together to write “Practically Perfect- A Julie Andrews Story” and their love of the vintage biopic was born.
Sam and Alasdair are both singers and actors neither of whom are happier than when they are performing together.
