Event Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Paint along at home to create your own Watercolour West Pier, with Gallery 92 artist Clare Harms.
Enjoy painting, perhaps with an accompanying glass of wine (!), and learning a variety of watercolour techniques that Clare herself uses within her illustrations.
A fun two-three hour activity that is suitable for beginners and improvers.
You will need the following materials for this workshop:
- Watercolour paper (approx 5 sheets)
- Basic watercolour brushes
- Watercolour paints to include the primary colours of red, blue and yellow (ideally a cool & warm shade of each primary colour)
- Mixing palette (or old plate/saucer)
- Waterproof black ink pen
"For as long as I can remember I have always loved drawing and painting. I graduated with an honours degree in Fine Art from University College Chichester in 1999 and have since developed a distinctively illustrative painting style. I am now a Hurstpierpoint based artist inspired by the beauty and freedom that surrounds me on the South Downs and at the seafront in nearby Brighton & Hove.
My illustrations begin life being drawn freehand in pencil. I then outline the drawing with a waterproof pen and finally add colour using layers of watercolour. My illustrations are then printed onto a variety of products including cards, mugs, coasters, notebooks and limited edition framed prints.
You can see my work in my gallery - Gallery 92, Hurstpierpoint "
