Vertigo 'might be the critics’ favourite Hitchcock, but for sheer entertainment value, few films can hold a candle to this perfectly constructed thriller. Unforgettable set-pieces (the crop duster, Mount Rushmore), sublime performances and a script as razor-sharp as Cary Grant’s trousers, this is perfect film making.
