The Team behind Hurst Festival are excited to announce Virtual Hurst Festival 2020 – an imaginative online version of Hurst Festival for September this year, bringing you our usual high standard of over 40 booked events and acts – via our website linking you to YouTube Live and other relevant platforms that you can stream to your TV and straight into your home!
We feel it’s important to bring the community together at this time, to entertain and inform, involving people of all ages and uplifting our collective mental health. We also wish to make it free for everybody, with a ‘Donate If You Can’ button on our website and donation boxes in various Hurstpierpoint High Street shops, so we hope you can help support this community event.
Virtual Hurst Festival 2020 will include our usual high calibre performances with Live Music, Comedy, Music Bingo & Disco with Boogaloo Stu, Classical Music, DJ’s, Workshops, Film Nights, Music and Drama and Podcasts from the students at Hurst College, Performances from the students of Hurst Festival Music Club, Kids Entertainment, Art Classes, Wellbeing Events and our Open Studios: featuring the usual array of talented local artists.
We invite you, the community, to get involved as much as possible, with interactive events as diverse as Coding for Kids and a Wine and Paint Party at home!
We are also offering links and special Hurst Festival deals for delivery of food and drink to people’s homes from local suppliers, helping the High Street whilst having maximum fun!
There are exciting new plans that make best use of being an online event, with an extended reach into our community and beyond, including Quizzes, Live Debate with a panel of experts, a Virtual Balloon Race, Photography Nature Competition and Exhibition…the list goes on!
As you can imagine we are still faced with a considerable financial challenge as we shall have no income from ticket sales, so please head to our website and donate, spread the word and help us survive for our return with Hurst Festival 2021.
We are supporting the local creative sector with the audience also having a chance to donate direct to performers whilst watching.
Keep an eye on our website and social media pages and our listings page will go live in July with the events available to watch between 12th and 27th September, so we can all be together watching world class entertainment that we will bring to you, straight to your own home!
