Hurst Festival is excited to announce the dates for its 18th Year – 11th to 25th September 2021.
We are looking forward to a full live festival in September.
Of course, we will be keeping a keen eye on all Government guidelines and we have our community’s safety at the forefront of our minds, but we must plan as normal to be prepared for all eventualities.
We have a fabulous line up for you with all your festival favourites plus some new and amazing special guests.
Our Musical Soirées include Melismata, Mike Reinstien, Leto Ensemble, Madeline Kirby and Rachel Fryer.
We have extra special performances from Richard Durrant, The Dave Williams Jazz Swing Quartet and a blues night with John Crampton.
We are incredibly pleased to announce we have the amazing Joe Stilgoe; internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter performing for us on the 23rd and the legendary Wilbury Jam on the 19th.
Open Studios returns to showcase local artists alongside an Exhibition in Holy Trinity Church from the Sussex Guild and Brighton.
The always sold-out comedy nights will return on both Fridays 17th and 24th plus comedy magic for kids with Seska on the 25th.
We have all kinds of interesting walks including with the Ramblers, the Hurstpierpoint Society, Kids Leaf Identification Walk, Foraging and Herbal Medicine with Workshop from renowned Herbalist Julia Behrens. Other workshops include Mindful Meditation for the Community and Art Workshops.
Talks include Fashion, Fury & Feminism – Women’s Fight for Change and our Big Debate this year is on Rediscovering Our Humanity as a consequence of the pandemic.
Hurst Rethink Day on the 18th mixes entertainment with local sustainability including talks, discussions and local food, drink and crafts.
Players Theatre presents ‘Outside Edge’ and Hurst Cinema presents 5 films nights including two nights of outdoor cinema in the New Inn Garden with a Cocktail Master Class before each one to get you in the mood!
Hurst College presents a Wine and Paint night and Student Performances, and in the Village, we have a Sussex Wine and Cheese night, a Sussex Dinner and a Nutritional Pop-Up Restaurant for your delectation!
The Saturday nights are big and bold with “This Is Queen” – the best Queen Tribute Band on the circuit and an amazing Last Night Party on the 25th bringing you 1btn.fm DJ’s Hannah Sherlock and Tim Walker, aka Love is the Message. Dress to dance the night away to both classic and new disco, funk and soul.
And of course, our wonderful Super Sunday on the 12th where we take over the High Street with free entertainment and activities for the whole community!
